The bee costume is original idea for a themed party or carnival. It can be either for adults or for children. Making a bee costume with your own hands is easy if you use step by step instructions, as well as advice and ideas.
In order to make a Maya the bee costume for a girl, you will need soft fabric and mesh fabric in yellow and black colors.
For the top you will need a soft, preferably elastic, woven fabric of both colors. Cut out rectangles from yellow fabric that will become the base of the top. In order not to make a mistake with the dimensions, attach any non-tight T-shirt to the fabric, step back one and a half centimeters in width and cut out the details. The next step is to create black stripes. From black fabric we cut out long strips 3-5 centimeters wide and sew them onto rectangles. It is advisable to make sure that they are located equally on both rectangles. Sew the rectangles on the sides and cut out straps from black fabric. We sew them to both tops of the triangle.
For the tutu skirt you need yellow and black mesh fabric and elastic. To determine the size of the elastic, wrap it around your child's waist or hips, then tie the elastic into a knot and remove it. Next, cut equally long pieces from fabrics of both colors so that their width is approximately five centimeters. When choosing the length, keep in mind that the skirt will look shorter when finished. Tie the strips of mesh fabric with elastic knots, making sure there are no gaps. The more stripes attached, the more magnificent the skirt will be.
To make bee horns, you will need cardboard, very thick black thread, preferably wool, a black rim and wire. Cut out a circle of cardboard with a diameter of approximately ten centimeters and cut out a circle with a diameter of three centimeters in the center inside it.
We wrap the resulting bagel with thread. The better it is wrapped, the more magnificent the pompom will be. Next, cut the threads along the edge of the circle and collect them with thread. It is necessary to fluff the pompom. We take two identical pieces of wire, wrap their ends around the rim, and lift the tops up. Attach pompoms to them.
Unusual bee costume for a girl
There is a simpler option for creating this carnival vestment. Its main detail will be a tight-fitting corset. It can be sewn from well-stretchable yellow fabric, and black stripes can be painted with acrylic paints.
You can glue wings cut from black double-sided cardboard to the corset with fabric glue.
You can wear any black top or long-sleeve blouse of the same color over the corset.
The skirt must be black and short. You can take a ready-made skirt, or sew a circle, straight or tutu skirt.
Instead of horns, you can use a headband with yellow or black pompoms.
A must-have item is black tights or leggings.
DIY bee costume for a boy
The basis of this outfit is black trousers and a turtleneck. You can make a T-shirt yourself from two pieces of yellow fabric and draw contrasting black stripes on it.
You can make black wings from double-sided very thick black paper and glue them to a T-shirt.
Horns can be made from strips of black cardboard and glued to any black hat.

To make it New Year's costume, decorated with wide stripes 5-6 cm wide, alternate dark brown and orange working threads.
